How does it split the expenses?
It adds up everything the group paid, divides it equally between the people you add, and works out the minimum transfers so whoever paid less pays back whoever paid more.
Does it work for a trip or a shared flat?
Yes. Add each person and what they've paid so far (accommodation, dinners, groceries…) and it tells you exactly who owes what to whom to settle up.
What if two people paid the exact same amount?
Then neither owes the other anything for that split — the calculator only creates a transfer when a real balance is left after averaging what everyone paid.
