This job offer comparison calculator works out the real gross hourly pay of two offers from their annual salary, schedule and vacation days, so you can see which one actually pays better per hour worked.
A bigger salary doesn’t always mean better pay
An offer with a higher annual salary can still pay less per hour if it comes with longer days or fewer vacation days. Converting both offers to an hourly rate — based on actual hours worked per year — puts them on equal footing so you’re comparing like for like.
Example
Offer A pays €30,000/year for a 5-day, 8-hour schedule with 22 vacation days (1,904 hours/year), working out to about €15.76/hour. Offer B pays €33,000/year for a 5-day, 9-hour schedule with the same vacation days (2,142 hours/year), or about €15.41/hour. Despite the €3,000 higher salary, Offer B pays roughly €0.35 less per hour than Offer A.
